The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a cruiser motorcycle from Royal Enfield. It was launched in 2022 and is still on sale. Cruisers are built for relaxed riding, typically with a low seat, a laid-back posture and an engine that pulls from low revs. With a 349 cc engine it sits in the 250–450 cc class.
Power comes from a 349 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Peak torque arrives low in the rev range, at 4,000 rpm, which makes it relaxed to ride in traffic. Its stroke is longer than its bore (72 mm x 85.8 mm), a long-stroke layout that generally favours low-down pulling power. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 113 PS per tonne; by that measure, there is enough go for confident city riding and relaxed highway cruising. The claimed top speed is 114 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 5-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 4-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. It uses a wet multi-plate clutch.
It is built around a twin downtube spine frame. Suspension is by telescopic, 41 mm forks at the front and twin shock absorbers with 6-step adjustable preload at the rear. Braking is by twin 300 mm discs at the front and a 270 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. ABS on both wheels keeps either tyre from locking under hard braking. It rides on alloy wheels.
The seat is 790 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 181 kg ready to ride, which is on the heavy side, so moving it by hand takes some effort. Ground clearance is 160 mm — enough for most speed breakers. It is 2,055 mm long, with 1,370 mm between the axles. It carries 13 L of fuel.
Equipment includes a digi-analog (kmph)(single scale) instrument console, an LED headlamp, USB charging port, turn-by-turn navigation, gear position indicator, low oil indicator, low battery indicator, slipper clutch, engine start/stop button and adjustable rear preload. Safety equipment includes engine kill switch, side-stand warning and hazard light switch.
The manufacturer's warranty is 3 years/ 30000 kms. It comes with 4 free services, the first due at 500 km or 45 days. For the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹2,799 doorstep service.
It is best suited to relaxed riding and unhurried weekend trips.
Recommended tyre pressures are 29 psi front and 32 psi rear riding alone, and 29 psi front and 33 psi rear with a pillion. The published service intervals are 1st service at 500 km or 45 days, 2nd service at 5000 km or 180 days, 3rd service at 10000 km or 365 days and 4th service at 15000 km or 540 days. Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
