The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is a motorcycle from Royal Enfield. It is currently on sale. With a 452 cc engine it sits in the middleweight 450–800 cc class.
Power comes from a 452 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.47 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 40 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Its bore is wider than its stroke (84 mm x 81.5 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 216 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is lively, with easy overtakes and relaxed highway speeds. The claimed top speed is 140 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 5-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. Its slipper clutch lightens the lever and stops the rear wheel hopping when you downshift hard.
It is built around a steel tubular frame. Suspension is by telescopic forks at the front and monoshock absorbers at the rear. Braking is by a 310 mm disc at the front and a 270 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. ABS on both wheels keeps either tyre from locking under hard braking. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 120/70 - R17 at the front and 160/60 - R17 at the rear.
The seat is 780 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 185 kg ready to ride, which is on the heavy side, so moving it by hand takes some effort. Ground clearance is 169 mm — enough for most speed breakers. It is 2,090 mm long, with 1,440 mm between the axles. It carries 11 L of fuel.
Equipment includes 4 " TFT Display, an LED headlamp, USB charging port, call and SMS alerts, distance-to-empty readout, gear position indicator, real-time mileage indicator, service due indicator, ride-by-wire throttle and centre stand, among others. Safety equipment includes engine kill switch, side-stand engine cut-off, side-stand warning, hazard light switch and malfunction indicator. It has a street and Sport riding mode.
The manufacturer's warranty is 30,000 km or 3 years. It comes with 4 free services, the first due at 500 km or 45 days. For the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹2,799 doorstep service.
Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders.
Recommended tyre pressures are 32 psi front and 36 psi rear, solo or with a pillion. The published service intervals are 1st service at 500 km or 45 days, 2nd service at 5000 km or 180 days, 3rd service at 10000 km or 365 days and 4th service at 15000 km or 545 days. Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
