The Hero Glamour is a commuter motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp. It is currently on sale. Commuter bikes are built for everyday riding: economical, easy to handle and inexpensive to run and maintain. With a 124.7 cc engine it sits in the 125–150 cc class.
Power comes from a 124.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 7.75 kW at 7,500 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Its stroke is longer than its bore (52.4 x 57.8 mm), a long-stroke layout that generally favours low-down pulling power. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 87 PS per tonne; by that measure, there is enough go for confident city riding and relaxed highway cruising. The claimed top speed is 95 km/h. It has both electric and kick start.
It has a 5-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 4-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. It uses a wet multi-plate clutch.
It is built around a diamond frame. At the front, the suspension is 30 mm telescopic fork, 105 mm stroke. At the rear, it is 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers, 73.5 mm stroke. Braking is by a 240 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear, with a combined braking system (CBS). Using the rear brake lever also applies some front brake, which shortens stops for riders who lean on the rear brake. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 80/100-18 at the front and 100/80-18 at the rear.
The seat is 793 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 121 kg ready to ride. Ground clearance is 170 mm — enough for most speed breakers. It is 2,042 mm long, with 1,267 mm between the axles. Its 10 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 65 km/l work out to roughly 650 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes a digital instrument console and an LED headlamp.
The manufacturer's warranty is 5 years or 70,000 km. It comes with 5 free services, the first due at 500-750 km or 60 days. It comes in 4 colours. For the Hero Glamour, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹899 doorstep service.
It is best suited to daily commuting and riders who put running costs first. Its gentle performance makes it a forgiving choice for a first bike.
Recommended tyre pressures are 25 psi front and 29 psi rear riding alone, and 25 psi front and 33 psi rear with a pillion. The published service intervals are 1st service at 500-750 km or 60 days, 2nd service at 3000-3500 km or 160 days, 3rd service at 6000-6500 km or 260 days, 4th service at 9000-9500 km or 360 days and 5th service at 12000-12500 km or 460 days. Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
