The Hero Destini 110 is a commuter scooter from Hero MotoCorp. It is currently on sale. Scooters are made for easy city riding: automatic, step-through and usually with storage under the seat. With a 110.9 cc engine it sits in the everyday 100–110 cc scooter class.
Power comes from a 110.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 6 kW at 7,250 rpm and 8.7 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 72 PS per tonne; by that measure, there is enough go for confident city riding and relaxed highway cruising. It has both electric and kick start.
It uses an automatic (CVT) transmission, so there are no gears or clutch to work — you twist the throttle and go.
It is built around an underbone frame. Suspension is by telescopic fork at the front and single coil-spring hydraulic at the rear. Braking is by a disc at the front and a drum at the rear, with a combined braking system (CBS). Using the rear brake lever also applies some front brake, which shortens stops for riders who lean on the rear brake. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 90/90-12 at the front and 100/80-12 at the rear.
The seat is 770 mm off the ground, which is low and makes it easy to put your feet down. It weighs 114 kg ready to ride, light enough to push around and park easily. Ground clearance is 162 mm — enough for most speed breakers. It is 1,859 mm long, with 1,302 mm between the axles. Its 5.3 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 56.2 kmpl work out to roughly 298 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes an analogue and digital instrument console, an LED projector headlamp, 12-inch wheels, wider 100/80 rear tyre, seat backrest, chrome accents and electric and kick start. Safety equipment includes side-stand warning and low fuel indicator.
The manufacturer's warranty is 5 years or 50,000 km, whichever comes first. It is sold in 2 variants (Destini 110 ZX and Destini 110 VX). For the Hero Destini 110, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹899 doorstep service.
It is best suited to daily commuting and riders who put running costs first. Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders.
