The Kawasaki Z250 is a sports naked motorcycle from Kawasaki. It has been discontinued (production ended around 2019). Mechiee still services it at your doorstep. Naked and roadster bikes pair a lively engine with an upright riding position and little or no fairing, which makes them easy to live with every day. With a 249 cc engine it sits in the 150–250 cc class.
Power comes from a 249 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 31.5 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 21 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. Peak torque comes high up, at 10,000 rpm, so it rewards revving. Its bore is wider than its stroke (62 mm x 41.2 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 190 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is lively, with easy overtakes and relaxed highway speeds. The claimed top speed is 200 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 6-speed manual gearbox, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel.
It is built around a tube diamond steel frame. Suspension is by telescopic fork at the front and Bottom-Link Uni-Trak with gas-charged shock at the rear. Braking is by a disc at the front and a disc at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 110/70-17 at the front and 140/70-17 at the rear.
The seat is 785 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 168 kg ready to ride. Ground clearance is 145 mm — adequate, though tall speed breakers need care. It is 2,010 mm long, with 1,400 mm between the axles. Its 17 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 26 Kmpl work out to roughly 442 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes an analogue and digital instrument console, an LED headlamp and distance-to-empty readout.
The manufacturer's warranty is 2 years or 30,000 km. For the Kawasaki Z250, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹6,999 doorstep service.
It is best suited to riders who want performance with an upright, everyday-friendly posture. Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders.
Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
