The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a sports motorcycle from Kawasaki. It was launched in 2013 and is still on sale. Sports bikes put performance first, usually with a sportier riding position and sharper handling than everyday bikes. With a 296 cc engine it sits in the 250–450 cc class.
Power comes from a 296 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 38.88 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 26.1 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. Peak torque comes high up, at 10,000 rpm, so it rewards revving. Its bore is wider than its stroke (62 mm x 49 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 220 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is lively, with easy overtakes and relaxed highway speeds. The claimed top speed is 160 km/h. It has electric start. Charging times: Is_delete.
It has a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 5-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. Its slipper clutch lightens the lever and stops the rear wheel hopping when you downshift hard.
It is built around a tubular diamond frame. Suspension is by 37 mm telescopic fork / 120 mm at the front and Bottom-Link Uni-Trak with gas-charged shock at the rear. Braking is by a disc at the front and a disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. ABS on both wheels keeps either tyre from locking under hard braking. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 110/70-17 at the front and 140/70-17 at the rear.
The seat is 785 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 179 kg ready to ride, which is on the heavy side, so moving it by hand takes some effort. Ground clearance is 140 mm — adequate, though tall speed breakers need care. It is 2,015 mm long, with 1,405 mm between the axles. It carries 17 L of fuel.
Equipment includes a semi-digital instrument console, a halogen headlamp, gear position indicator and daytime running lamps. Safety equipment includes side-stand warning, engine kill switch, low fuel indicator and low oil indicator. It has an is_delete riding mode.
The manufacturer's warranty is 2 years or 30,000 km. For the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹7,999 doorstep service.
It is best suited to riders who want performance and sharp handling. Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders.
Recommended tyre pressures are 28 psi front and 32 psi rear, solo or with a pillion. Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
