The Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 is a motorcycle from Harley-Davidson. It is currently on sale. With a 1,923 cc engine it sits in the big-bike, 800 cc-plus class.
Power comes from a 1,923 cc engine that makes 101.9 bhp at 5,020 rpm and 168 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. Peak torque arrives low in the rev range, at 3,500 rpm, which makes it relaxed to ride in traffic. Its stroke is longer than its bore (103.5 mm x 114.3 mm), a long-stroke layout that generally favours low-down pulling power. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 333 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is genuinely fast, well beyond everyday traffic speeds. The claimed top speed is 210 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 5-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. Its slipper clutch lightens the lever and stops the rear wheel hopping when you downshift hard.
Its frame is mild steel, tubular frame. At the front, the suspension is Dual-bending valve 49 mm telescopic with aluminum fork triple clamps; dual rate spring. At the rear, it is hidden, free piston, coil-over monoshock; 43mm stroke; toolless hydraulic preload adjustment. Braking is by a 300 mm disc at the front and a 292 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. ABS on both wheels keeps either tyre from locking under hard braking. It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 130/60 - B21 at the front and 240/40 - R18 at the rear.
The seat is 665 mm off the ground, which is low and makes it easy to put your feet down. It weighs 310 kg ready to ride, which is heavy, so parking and tight U-turns need care. Ground clearance is 115 mm — low, so take speed breakers and steep ramps slowly. It is 2,370 mm long, with 1,695 mm between the axles. Its 18.9 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 17.8 kmpl work out to roughly 336 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes 4 " LCD Display, an LED headlamp, USB charging port, distance-to-empty readout, gear position indicator, service due indicator, shift light, engine temperature indicator, low fuel indicator and low oil indicator. Safety equipment includes engine kill switch, side-stand engine cut-off, side-stand warning, hazard light switch, traction control and malfunction indicator.
Warranty terms: Unlimited km or 2 years. For the Harley-Davidson Breakout 117, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹14,999 doorstep service.
Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders. With this much performance, it is better as a step-up bike than a first bike.
Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
