The Yamaha RayZR 125 is a scooter from Yamaha. It was launched in 2020 and has since been discontinued (production ended around 2026). Mechiee still services it at your doorstep. Scooters are made for easy city riding: automatic, step-through and usually with storage under the seat. With a 125 cc engine it sits in the 125 cc scooter class.
Power comes from a 125 cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 8.2 PS at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Peak torque arrives low in the rev range, at 5,000 rpm, which makes it relaxed to ride in traffic. Its stroke is longer than its bore (52.4 mm x 57.9 mm), a long-stroke layout that generally favours low-down pulling power. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 83 PS per tonne; by that measure, there is enough go for confident city riding and relaxed highway cruising. The claimed top speed is 91 km/h. It has both electric and kick start.
It uses an automatic (CVT) transmission, so there are no gears or clutch to work — you twist the throttle and go.
It is built around a light weight frame. Suspension is by telescopic fork at the front and unit swing at the rear. Braking is by a 130 mm drum at the front and a drum at the rear, with a combined braking system (UBS). Using the rear brake lever also applies some front brake, which shortens stops for riders who lean on the rear brake. It rides on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 90/90 - 12 at the front and 110/90 - 10 at the rear.
The seat is 785 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 99 kg ready to ride, light enough to push around and park easily. Ground clearance is 145 mm — adequate, though tall speed breakers need care. It is 1,880 mm long, with 1,280 mm between the axles. Its 5.2 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 49 kmpl work out to roughly 255 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes an analogue instrument console, a halogen headlamp, centre stand, idle start-stop, silent start, low fuel indicator and low oil indicator. Safety equipment includes UBS, side-stand engine cut-off, side-stand warning and malfunction indicator.
The manufacturer's warranty is 24,000 km or 2 years. It comes with 4 free services, the first due at 1000 km or 30 days. For the Yamaha RayZR 125, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹899 doorstep service.
It is best suited to city errands and riders who would rather not shift gears. Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders.
Recommended tyre pressures are 22 psi front and 29 psi rear, solo or with a pillion. The published service intervals are 1st service at 1000 km or 30 days, 2nd service at 4000 km or 150 days, 3rd service at 7000 km or 270 days and 4th service at 10000 km or 390 days.
