The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is a motorcycle from Honda. It is currently on sale. With a 999 cc engine it sits in the big-bike, 800 cc-plus class.
Power comes from a 999 cc 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 214.56 bhp at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 12,000 rpm. Peak torque comes high up, at 12,000 rpm, so it rewards revving. Its bore is wider than its stroke (81 mm x 48.5 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 1082 PS per tonne; by that measure, its performance is at superbike level and rewards an experienced rider. It has electric start.
It is built around a double beam aluminium composite frame. At the front, the suspension is ohlins NPX (SV) S-EC 3.0 with electronic preload, compression and rebound adjustments forks. At the rear, it is ohlins TTX36 (SV) S-EC 3.0 shock absorber with Pro-Link and elctronic adjustments for preload compression and rebound. Braking is by a disc at the front and a disc at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 120/70 - ZR17 at the front and 200/55 - ZR17 at the rear.
The seat is 830 mm off the ground, which is on the tall side, so shorter riders may want to try it first. It weighs 201 kg ready to ride, which is on the heavy side, so moving it by hand takes some effort. Ground clearance is 115 mm — low, so take speed breakers and steep ramps slowly. It is 2,105 mm long, with 1,455 mm between the axles. It carries 16.5 L of fuel.
Equipment includes a digital instrument console, an LED headlamp, Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, quickshifter, USB charging port, DRLs (daytime running lights) and pass light. Safety equipment includes traction control and wheelie control.
