The Hero Xpulse 200 4V is an adventure motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp. It was launched in 2021 and has since been discontinued. Mechiee still services it at your doorstep. Adventure bikes are built to travel long distances on good and bad roads alike, typically with long-travel suspension and an upright riding position. With a 199.6 cc engine it sits in the 150–250 cc class.
Power comes from a 199.6 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine that makes 18.9 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 17.35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 121 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is lively, with easy overtakes and relaxed highway speeds. The claimed top speed is 115 km/h. It has both electric and kick start.
It has a 5-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 4-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. It uses a wet multi-plate clutch.
It is built around a diamond type frame. At the front, the suspension is telescopic front forks (dia 37) with anti friction bush. At the rear, it is rectangular swingarm 10 step preload adjustable monoshock. Braking is by a disc at the front and a disc at the rear, with single-channel ABS. Single-channel ABS works on the front wheel, which does most of the stopping. It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels — 90/90 - 21 at the front and 120/80 - 18 at the rear.
The seat is 825 mm off the ground, which is on the tall side, so shorter riders may want to try it first. It weighs 159 kg ready to ride. Ground clearance is 220 mm — plenty for broken roads and tall speed breakers. It is 2,222 mm long, with 1,410 mm between the axles. Its 13 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 32.9 kmpl work out to roughly 428 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes a digital instrument console, an LED projector headlamp, Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging port, navigation assist, daytime running lamps and riding modes. Safety equipment includes hazard light switch.
The manufacturer's warranty is 5 years/70000 km. It comes with 4 free services, the first due at 500-750 km or 60 days. For the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹899 doorstep service.
It is best suited to long-distance touring and roads of mixed quality.
Recommended tyre pressures are 25 psi front and 33 psi rear riding alone, and 25 psi front and 36 psi rear with a pillion. The published service intervals are 1st service at 500-750 km or 60 days, 2nd service at 6000-6500 km or 240 days, 3rd service at 12000- 12500 km or 420 days and 4th service at 18000- 18500 km or 600 days. Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
