The QJ SRC 500 is a street motorcycle from QJ Motor. It is currently on sale. Naked and roadster bikes pair a lively engine with an upright riding position and little or no fairing, which makes them easy to live with every day. With a 480 cc engine it sits in the middleweight 450–800 cc class.
Power comes from a 480 cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 25.85 PS at 5,750 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. Its bore is wider than its stroke (86 mm x 82.6 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 126 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is lively, with easy overtakes and relaxed highway speeds. The claimed top speed is 145 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 5-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 4-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. It uses a wet clutch.
It is built around a bassinet type frame. Suspension is by telescopic forks at the front and telescopic coil spring oil damped at the rear. Braking is by a 300 mm disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS. ABS on both wheels keeps either tyre from locking under hard braking. It rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 100/90-19 at the front and 130/70-18 at the rear.
The seat is 800 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 205 kg ready to ride, which is on the heavy side, so moving it by hand takes some effort. Ground clearance is 155 mm — adequate, though tall speed breakers need care. It is 2,170 mm long, with 1,440 mm between the axles. It carries 15.5 L of fuel.
