The Hyosung ST7 is a cruiser motorcycle from Hyosung. It has been discontinued. Mechiee still services it at your doorstep. Cruisers are built for relaxed riding, typically with a low seat, a laid-back posture and an engine that pulls from low revs. With a 678 cc engine it sits in the middleweight 450–800 cc class.
Power comes from a 678 cc twin-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that makes 57.6 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 57 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Its bore is wider than its stroke (81.5 mm x 65 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 239 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is lively, with easy overtakes and relaxed highway speeds. The claimed top speed is 175 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 5-speed manual gearbox, and a belt carries drive to the rear wheel. It uses a wet multi-plate clutch.
Its frame is steel, double cradle frame. Suspension is by telescopic forks at the front and hydraulic double shock absorber at the rear. Braking is by a disc at the front and a disc at the rear. It rides on 16-inch front and 15-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 120/80 - 16 60W at the front and 170/80 - 15 77W at the rear.
The seat is 675 mm off the ground, which is low and makes it easy to put your feet down. It weighs 244 kg ready to ride, which is heavy, so parking and tight U-turns need care. Ground clearance is 155 mm — adequate, though tall speed breakers need care. It is 2,470 mm long, with 1,690 mm between the axles. Its 17.7 L fuel tank and claimed mileage of 18 Kmpl work out to roughly 319 km per tankful on paper; real-world range is usually lower.
Equipment includes distance-to-empty readout.
The manufacturer's warranty is 2 years or 25,000 km. For the Hyosung ST7, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹4,499 doorstep service.
It is best suited to relaxed riding and unhurried weekend trips. Its low seat also makes it approachable for shorter and newer riders.
Its belt drive needs no lubrication, only periodic checks for wear and tension.
