The Aprilia Tuono 457 is a motorcycle from Aprilia. It is currently on sale. With a 457 cc engine it sits in the middleweight 450–800 cc class.
Power comes from a 457 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 46.9 bhp at 9,400 rpm and 43.5 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. Its bore is wider than its stroke (69 mm x 61.1 mm), a short-stroke layout that generally favours higher revs. Divide power by kerb weight and it has about 272 PS per tonne; by that measure, it is genuinely fast, well beyond everyday traffic speeds. The claimed top speed is 190 km/h. It has electric start.
It has a 6-speed manual gearbox with a 1-down, 5-up shift pattern, and a chain carries drive to the rear wheel. Its slipper clutch lightens the lever and stops the rear wheel hopping when you downshift hard.
It is built around a twin spar aluminum frame. At the front, the suspension is Ø 41mm USD fork, adjustable preload, 120mm wheel travel. At the rear, it is monoshock, adjustable preload, 130 mm wheel travel. Braking is by a 320 mm disc at the front and a 220 mm disc at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres — 110/70 - 17 at the front and 150/60 - 17 at the rear.
The seat is 800 mm off the ground, which is about average and suits most riders. It weighs 175 kg ready to ride, which is on the heavy side, so moving it by hand takes some effort. It carries 12.7 L of fuel.
Equipment includes 5 " TFT Display with Brightness Control, an LED projector headlamp, call and SMS alerts, distance-to-empty readout, gear position indicator, service due indicator, ride-by-wire throttle, shift light, engine temperature indicator and low fuel indicator, among others. Safety equipment includes engine kill switch, side-stand engine cut-off, side-stand warning, hazard light switch, traction control and malfunction indicator. It has two riding modes: Eco and Sport and Rain.
For the Aprilia Tuono 457, Mechiee offers a fixed ₹2,199 doorstep service.
With this much performance, it is better as a step-up bike than a first bike.
Recommended tyre pressures are 29 psi front and 33 psi rear, solo or with a pillion. Its chain drive needs regular cleaning, lubrication and slack adjustment.
